e6750 at 266 FSB - Pleasehelp

Here is what I have:

ASUS p5KC MB
e6750 CPU
Crucial Ballistix 2 GB DDR2 800 Ram

In CPU-Z, I am getting:
BUS Speed: 266.7
Rated FSB: 1066.8

I would have thought I would have gotten 333 and 1333 respectively.

I have gone into the BIOS and changed the following settings but the bus stays at 266:
FSB Frequency: 333
DRAM Frequency: 800 MHZ
CAS# Latency: 4
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 4
RAS# Precharge: 4
RAS# Activate to Precharge: 12
DRAM Voltage: 2.2

I still have Speedstep enable, but I thought that only affects the multiplier and since I am not currently overclocking, I am fine with it on.

Am I missing something? Thanks.

Make sure cpu ratio is 8 & FSB is 333. Disable boot splash. Look at the identified cpu speed on the post screen.

BIOS is updated to the most recent.
CPU Ratio is manually set to 8
FSB is manually set to 333


When I boot, it displays:
E6750 @ 2.66 GHZ
Speed 2.13 GHZ Count 2

Then you have nothing to worry about. cpuz didn't make the cpu. it's just a 3rd-party app. Do not trust it 100%.

But doesn't the speed of 2.13 GHZ prove that I am getting FSB 266 and multiplier of 8?

Also, the ASUS utility shows FSB of 266.

Per a suggestion on the ASUS support forums, I reset the CMOS. Now I am getting 1333 FSB!!!

Very frustrating, but it looks like when I flashed the BIOS to the most recent one after initially setting up the new PC, it locked the bus speed at 266 despite the settings.

You can always run Superpi to see if it is performing properly. 1M digits should take 19 seconds.
