When i am overclocking my E6600 on my computer and i get over 3.3 ghz the screen goes blank and the computer restarts
It seems to be the hard drive that is crashing when i start the computer. Could it be the harddrives temperature or the motherboards.
CPU temp @ 3.3 Ghz according to Bios: 28C
Motherboard temp @3.3Ghz according tio Bios : 45C

My specs are:
CPU: E6600
CPU-fan: Thermalright ultra-120 extreme
Motherboard: p5wdh deluxe
RAM: 4GB Corsair XMS2 6400
HDD: WD raptor 74GB
Case: Antac p180B
Graphics Card: ASUS Geforce 8800GT 512mb
PSU: Antec NeoHe 550W

Ihave the same cpu and mobo as you do.
Have you increased the voltage on theMCH Chipset (northbridge)?
stock auto is 1.55v try at least 1.65v
your high o/c stresses out the FSB Northbridge

You can't go by the temp in the BIOS because the CPU hasn't had time to heat up and they cool down very fast. So the BIOS temp is always going to be low.

As far as not being able to OC the chip.... It could all depend on your stepping and rev.. I have one of the "better" E6600s and I can only squeeze 3.6Ghz out of it with a Tuniq Tower 120 and an eVGA 680i mobo. Try OCing it to 3.2 and run Prime 95 or something to check the stability.

Also, I don't know what your mobo defaults for voltages to the RAM, but I have the same RAM as you and my mobo defaults to 1.8V, but I go in and manually set it to 2.1 and it seems to help a lot.
