If you tried it once and it was working, how is it supposed to break the card? Assuming your TV has an output that is compatible with the card, you should be fine. Make sure in the drivers that it shows up as a TV. Don't got up to high in resolution, and don't force the refresh rate to high. (that will break the TV)

How are you connecting these? S-video? VGA? DVI? With S-video its impossible to mess it up. With VGA and DVI, keep the refresh rate at 60 Hertz, and follow the standard resolutions supported by the television.

Best clarity will be with the res set to 640 x 480. I highly recommend the use of older drivers for the card. I use the 56.56 forceware drivers and have no problems with TV out.
