Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there's any disadvantage in running a single video card in an SLI motherboard? I'm getting a new computer and would like to keep my options open...

Thanks.

None. Other than off course SLI mobos tend to be more expensive than non SLI ones.

Zero, im on a 590 Sli mb since May and everything runs great, I see no need for a second video card. It wont gain any more fps in games, just allows more detail which is already maxed out with my GTS 640. Plan on going with the next gen cards at Christmas anyway. Only went with a SLI board for the latest chipset.

There are none. SLI mobo's aren't built for SLI only, they just simply grant you the option, should you choose to, run SLI at any point you wish.

Using a single card in an SLI mobo lowers your chance of having boys.

Other than that there are none :)
