So I'm having an issue that I can not find a good answer to and thought this would be the best resource.

I have two CD/DVD R/W Drives. Both of which will read DVDs just fine (both movies and games). My problem is with reading CDs. Any CD based game that I load in the drives goes unrecognized and I am asked to "Insert Disc into Drive." This has no bearing on the CD itself as I have tried many and they are all in great shape.

So, what would cause my drives to NOT read CDs but read DVD material just fine?

System..
Chip - Intel C2D E6700
Motherboard - EVGA 680i
Video - 8800GTX
CD/DVD1 - Sony DRU-800
CD/DVD2 - Pioneer DVR-112D

Thanks for the help.

-Matt

Three random ideas off the top of my head. Can you play music cds? CDRs and CDRWs?

Also, up to date drivers, and firmware?

Any malware or out of control copy protection?
