I'm recently helping a professor to build his new Workstation. I advised him to get a good display, and, being over 50, he happily agreed about a very good display. I originally reccommended the Samsung 215TW PVA-based LCD, but quickly found that this model has been discontinued.

When I complained about not wanting a TN-based panel, the store I was negociating with was quick to point out that they can get their hands on NEC Displays as well. If I got this straight, NEC even deals with very-high-quality *-IPS panels... but I wasn't aiming so high: this professor doesn't work with photography...

So, to the point: which of the following is a good choice?

These are my options:

NEC-22WGXB NEC 22"" WD HDMI 1440X900 BK
NEC-24WCXB NEC 24"" WD HDMI 1920X1200 BK
NEC-2070VB NEC 20"" LCD 2070VX BLACK
NEC-2070NB NEC 20"" LCD 2070NX BLK DVI USB
NEC-203WXM NEC 20.1"" WD 1000:1 5MS BLK
NEC-205WMB NEC 20"" WD 1000:1 5MS BLK
NEC-20WMSB NEC 20.1 SLVR/BK TV 6MS 1600:1
NEC-2170NB NEC 21"" LCD BLK 1000:1 8MS USB
NEC-2180UB NEC 21"" LCD2180UX-BK PIVOT DVI
NEC-2190UB NEC 21.3"" LCD BLACK DVI
NEC-225WXM NEC 22""WD BLACK 1000:1 DVI SPK
NEC-223WXM NEC 22""WD BLACK 1000:1 DVI SPK
NEC-2335WX NEC 23"" LCD WIDE SCREEN TVTUNN
NEC-2470WX NEC 24"" WD 1000:1 SIL/WHT HDCP
NEC-2470WB NEC 24"" WD 1000:1 BLACK HDCP
NEC-2470VB NEC 24"" WD PIVOT ADJ BLK

Edit: Info from TFT Central (www.tftcentral.co.uk) seems to indicate that the NEC-2170UB might be based on a Samsung S-PVA panel. Isn't that the same used in the 215TW?...

Edit 2: This list feels bogus. I'm having a hard time finding many models on it. Is this normal?...

There are so many options that I simply don't know. I'm researching right now...
