I want to upgrade my mother board and the processor. This the first time I’ve tried this. Once the new board is installed, connect the old hard drive (with the existing OS), will the system drive on like nothing happened or will the new BIOS pop up and start asking questions? Thanks.

The problem is that the hdd has the drivers for the old mobo. Doing a Restore off the XP CD should delete the old drivers. Personally, I always do clean install of XP with a new mobo but not everyone agrees with this. Regardless of what you do, you'll need to install the new drivers. Also, joefriday is right, back everything up
