I was flashing my BIOS and wanted to save my current settings so I foolishly saved to a flash drive that had some other files saved on it. Now my files are damaged, the file names have been replaced by symbols and I can't open any of them. They are mostly office files (Word, Excel). Any tips on recovering them?

Try opening the word files at least with Notepad. Also are you sure you aren't trying to open temp files?
