Hi there. I just installed a new dvd-writer into my computer but when i startup my computer, a message on the startup screen comes up saying, "Drive 1 not found: Serial ATA, SATA-2" any help appreciated
Some more info would help. Is the DVD drive IDE or SATA? Is your HDD IDE or SATA? Maybe it's IDE and your jumpers are set incorrectly...
the hdd is ide and the dvd drive is Ultra ATA/66
Are the master/slave jumpers install correctly? If they are on the same cable, the HD should be jumpered for Master and the DVD for Slave. If the DVD drive is on a cable by itself, it should be jumpered as Master. DVD drives usually come jumpered as Master out of the box.
