When I type 192.168.1.1 into the IE Browser it brings up my homepage. Essentially all the browser will do is search the internet. I am trying to set or reset my wireless router which is a netgear.

Try that.

Good day!

Netgear Routers with 192.168.0.1 IP addresses are WGR614 V3-V1,MR814, RP614v1.These routers were not manufactured anymore by Netgear.

Hmmm...you are rather overlooking the large number of Netgear routers in use or still on sale, including probably the most widely used domestic routers in the UK market; the DG834G and DG834GT ranges.

The default IP address for many, probably most, Netgear routers is 192.168.0.1

Probably for adsl modem+routers it falls on 192.168.0.1 but for newer versions of WGR614 it's 192.168.1.1.Also to include WGT624,WPN824,WNDR300,WPNT824 they're all 192.168.1.1 by default.

Touche. And well matched.

Only thing is the original poster hasn't indicated whether cable or ADSL -- I'd guess the latter, wouldn't you ?

Well, let's wait for further details from the poster.
