Hey everyone. Almost 2 years ago i built my computer. I knew that i should have waited for the c2ds to come out, but it was my first build and i needed it done for a school project. There were no motherboards (that i noticed at least) that advertised compatibility with the c2ds. So i bought an ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe mobo and threw a P4 640 on it.
I know that the p4 640 isn't exactly slow, especially seeing that i COULD oc it to 4GHz, but I still really want to get my hands on a C2D.
my question is: is there a way to flash bios onto the p5ld2 deluxe mobo so that the c2d would work? on the ASUS website, it doesn't say my motherboard supports them, and upon further reading i found that they arent compatible with the 945P chipset. however, I also read somewhere that it may be possible to flash bios to make it work. If i could do that, i would assume the cpu wouldnt be as good as it could be, but at least i can hold off on buying a whole new mobo for a while.
yeah i already researched my mobo on asus, the p5ld2 deluxe isnt compatible but there are others in the p5ld2 series that are. i was just hoping there might be a way to flash bios or something... sigh... looks like im gettin a new mobo then ><
oh well, since my current motherboard has a fsb of 1066, i wouldnt be able to get the c2d 6750 that i want.
