Let us know how you get on as they are meant to be failed XT chips so in theory there was something that stoped them getting to XT speeds when tested.
It could be speed or stabillity etc but it would be nice to know from someone first hand.younever know a lot of them may get to XT speeds as i would think that when testing they would have a slightly higher speed target, just to cover thenselves.
Mactronix
what exactly is the point of flashing the bios to make it an xt? Will that make it perform better than a normal pro that has been overclocked to xt speeds? I don't the benefit being worth the risk.
Don't flash it to Xt Speeds. You are actually downgrading it.
If you have the 1gb version like I do. The memory speeds run faster then the xt model. 250 Mhz faster.
Just bump the core clock speed to xt speeds and voila you have a xt killer.
My Saphire 2900 pro 1gb Gddr4 runs almost 13,000 in 3dmark06. This blows the 2900Xt away.
Plus it will void the warranty if you flash it.
