Are Most Console gamers still living in 2005?

Here are a few statements that made me facepalm while watching a YouTube video. These people are stuck in 1998 and 2005 it seems and some of them even think that there consoles are still cutting edge.


Of course the pc version look slightly better. given that we are at the end of a console generation but in the beginning of each console generation the "next gen console" is usually more impressive than what most people have as there home computer. Take the Dreamcast for example, in '98 that machine could run circles around most home computers in terms of 3D graphics.


A few years ago when I was studying networking, there was this one guy that used to boast about his $8000 PC and when farcry 2 came out, I bought it on xbox. He saw it and started going on about how it would look better on his PC. One I asked him if it looked $7600 worth of better, he shut the hell up.
My problem is, this is the kind of attitude a lot of PC gamers have and it pisses me off.



Having to buy a gamePC of maybe $1500 or above does not justify the in my opinion slightly better graphics over the console versions. When moving around the difference is even less.

Bullshit. A $700 PC running most games on, I don't think so. You can pay more than that for a video card. Borderlands 2 on my PC looks about the same as on my PS3, not enough to really tell the difference but it has a bit of slowdown and some frame rate issues. Battlefield 3 only barely runs on low settings. Show me this $700 PC that can run most games on max. My PC is a couple of years old but it works and I can't justify upgrading it when console games look just as good as on my PC right now.

It's obviously better, but games sell better on console for a reason: Better exclusives, comfort, better party system, and backwards compatibility to older console exclusives, split-screen, cheap as hell, and still great graphics for being 7 year old hardware, no upgrading necessary.
PC has steam, but the only good PC exclusive is Counter Strike Source, and I don't care about graphics, that doesn't make a game, and I don't have enough money to fork out 3500             + dollars for a gaming rig.
