I recently bought an ATI Radeon 9600XT from my friend. It's a very good card for the price, but I have a question.
It's working very well now, but it's worrying me.
In the box and the manual is written: Compatible with AGP 8x (0.8v) and 4x (1.5V).
In my motherboard's manual (an ASUS K8V-X SE) is written: install only +1.5V cards.
So... there's the problem: I'm using AGP 8x. And my AGP slot only provide 1.5V. Would this cause some damage to the VGA?
It's (theorically) keyed for 1.5V
There's a picture.
So... looking at the card, it's keyed for 1.5V. It's working fine, so... everything OK?
If the card says it can use 1.5v, which it says it does, and the motherboard can provide that value, then it should work.
After looking at your motherboard, I've used a 9600 with the same keying in a motherboard with the same physical AGP slot. The basic rule is that if it fits, it should work, so it should work.
Yeah it should be fine.
I used my old R9600P on both.

As already said, no problem. If you were going to have a problem it would have happened as soon as you turned it on. Accelerated Graphics Port - Wikipedia.
since the keying on the card is the same for 1.5v and 0.8v, its up to the mobo and bios to determine what to set the voltage at, via communications with the card. As far as I know, all 8x cards (0.8v) will also work just fine and dandy at 1.5v (4x). Only thing you loose out on is the bandwidth.
As mentioned before, if it physically fits, it will work.
