I have a Mits 55511 that I have had for about 3 years. I noticed it doing
something funny last night. Once in awhile, it looks as if the convergence
goes screwy, the reds seem to separate out for a second or 2 (by a pretty
wide margin) and then return. Also, during dark scenes, once in awhile
there will be streaks of blue.
This happens with 3 inputs, OTA, the 1080i component for the Comcast 6412
DVR and the 480p component from the DVD, so I don't think it's the input.
Any insight to this odd behavior? I'm sure it is one of those things that
will probably get worse......

Bad solder connections on the output IC or the output IC is defective. Call
a tech who routinely does work on Mitsubishi RPTV and carries the parts for
field repair. Should be a routine fix.

Thanks for the FYI....died completely last night. Powers up, and shuts
itself down after 2-3 seconds. I'll call for service....
