Following the advice of another user from here I overclocked my E6300 beyond a 1.1 ratio with my RAM. To fill you in on my RAM, I have 4x 512MB of PC5300 (So 333MHz) and they've been automatically set to 5-5-5-15, even though they should be 4-4-4-12.

What I was wondering though is how far beyond 333 it's safe to set my FSB? I have it at 380 at the moment (An arbitrary choice rather than pushing the CPU to its limit). I know it'll vary from setup to setup but is there any particular reading I should use to guide me and if so what program to use to find it, as CPU-Z is only giving me the timings.

I've ran a blend test in Prime95 for 20-30 minutes without any errors.

380fsb is fine. Your ram at that speed should be fine too.

Laxing the timings to 5-5-5-15 is a good idea. However, you should stress test using the blend setting for at least 6hrs. 20-30mins doesn't cut it.

I'll run the stress test overnight.

Saying 380 should be fine for the RAM, has kind of raised a red flag to a bull. Is there anything I can use to determine how much further I can push it without experiencing any problems with memory?

I remember when I was first investigating going beyond 333 someone on here suggested laxing the timings further to 6-6-6-18, but I don't know enough about memory to know if that'll produce its own adverse effects.

Update: I ran a 10 hour blend test without any problems.

Strictly from a RAM point of view, would it be okay to just keep on upping the FSB and running long stress tests until I started to have errors? I presume the CPU itself is capable of handling a higher FSB as long as the cooling is still good but I don't know what the RAM can handle.
