I've always been an AMD fan, and I'm considering upgrading to a core Duo for my next project.

From what I can tell the E6750 is better then the E6700... however on newegg the E6750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115029 is alot cheaper then the E6700: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115002 is there anything I'm missing here?

Also when looking for a processor that's ~$200ish what is the best option out there? For AMD I was looking forward for the 6400+ but the E6750 looks better both in price and performance.

NOTE: I'm really just going to be gaming on this system and those are the benchmarks I was checking when comparing these 2.

yes the 6750 is way better chip - the 6700 is junk get a 6600

I had bad luck with 6700, so I used e6600 since last fall - good everytime.

the 6750 is way cooler running and faster - its just like a 325hp car vs a 375hp car the next year - micro changes in programing and material.

i recommend if you oc - first the q6600 g0, then the 6420 then 6550 if you have a low fsb mobo

if you have a high fsb mobo then go with the 6x50 series - q6600 is better either way and far more future proof
