If you've had the board for a while you should flash the bios and confirm that your FSB is running @ 1333.

Well first of the 965 chipset was made for FSB 1066 and not 1333.....

But according to gigabyte with f12 it should work....

Please define slow?
Have you run cpu-z to make sure its running at the right speed?

That makes sense, then. You only have one core.

Make sure your computer is recognized as an ACPI Multiprocessor system instead of single processor. I've never transitioned from single to dual core on the same OS install so I'm not sure if it'll do it on its own.

i got 3100 on 3d mark as a total score ...
the CPUZ does show me my CPU but it shows the core speed as 2000 , it should be 2600, it used to be shown right but when i pluged in an extra HD this happened.
it could be the OS..
are there any good CPU benchmark programs to show me if mine is ok?

2000 is right in line if speed step is on....when is shows this is the multiplier 6? if so...puts some load and see if it goes to 8(2600)

Run Superpi as I told you earlier (on 1M). It is the easiest way of gaging CPU performance.

I just ran it on Q6600 @3G and got 17 sec. It appeared to use 2 cores and a little on a third. Weak.

Superpi seems to be single threaded. check the task manager only 25% total. so one core @ 3 would run as good....

Either way 19 should be about right for the other system then

Oh, I didn't know. It only made sense considering it was written for a computer with multiple processors.

The original Task Manager readings were not a true picture. It looks like Super PI is designed for multiple cores, so why the crappy score? I want 5-6 second scores. I guess I'm SOL. Here are some screen shots.
