Gts aren't as power hungry as and the recommended power supply is atleast 500 watts, so I'm in the clear for now. I also have a 1100 watt powersupply but I'm waiting to buy the new shader hardware (4.1) so meh I'll hold off.
P.S
I dont think the 1100 watt will fit in this case and I had a gtx but I didn't really like it so I just got store credit, which I will use on the new video card in feb when ever it comes out
Sorry, to answer the cable management question, yes I know but it really hard since everything is awkwardly positioned. I need to see if I can find longer cables. It was messier with my other power supply because the cables weren't detachable:|. I was think of zip tieing them but I'm afraid of creating static in the case. If you have any suggestions I'll gladly take em. I'm stumped at the moment!
THanks
Looks nice. The 1100 watt PSU is way over kill! You should be able to build your next system around those two cards since most games for a while to come won't stress out a set of those cards.
I currently have the EVGA 8800GTX ACS3 768mb video card and the AMD 6000+ CPU. I plan to use my video card in my next system and later get a second matching video card to bump it up when needed.
yeah I agree...There really is no game that uses even the gts's max ability "technically" lol So I'm not worried but both my 8800 gts are overclocked since they're the bfgs OC 2 and they run perfectly. 84% increase in frames which was unbeleivable!!!
My CPU sucks I know but I'm waiting for my 6400 I sorta want to send it back to get a 6000 cuz I can just overclock it to the 6400 but I dunno.
Well, I have the 6000+ and I am very satisfied. I get nearly 11000 on the futuremark 06 benchmark program. If you have an extra 50.00 you could stay with the 6400+, I'm sure it will boost performance to a degree.
Your system looks nice and will be where you want it when you get the new CPU... =P
If I can get time I will try to post some pics of my system.
yeah i wanted the GTX but whether or not I am upgrading this summer. So the choices are between a single gtx and dual gts... SO i chose gts because Obviously better frames, and not only that but SLI IS SOO COOL!!! I am waiting for the new video cards to come out this sumemr. Whether they do or not, the other video cards will be cheaper soo meh!
Oh another reason was that the gtx consumes alot more power so I just wanted to play it safe since i only have a 620 watt PSU and 1100 PSU that doesn't fit!
actually.. the single GTX consumes a lot less power than dual GTS. And the single GTX and SLI GTS trade blows as far as frame rates goes depending on the resolution (The higher the res, the better the SLI setup will fare)
Yeah obviously it would consume more power. It really performance wise won't make such a difference between GTS SLI and single GTX, however with electricity bill increasing costs by the minute I rather have a single GTX
Yeah but I really prefer to have higher Frames lol and at the native resolution of 1280x1024 I can blaze frame rates for new comming games as well I want to get a bigger case as well but I'm just too satisfied with the Antec P900, Case temperature is always under 40!
