I need a new heat sink and fan and intend to overclock as much as possible. I've read that the fans that come packaged with a lot of heatsinks are too loud. I'm not worried about noise, unless it gets through my huge noise canceling 5.1 surround headphones. I've looked at the tuniq heatsink, but it looks like it could be too large for my case. I've got about 7 inches between the motherboard itself and the panel, and theres a funny looking funnel type piece that sits above the processor. I'm sure this can be removed if necessary, but if it helps it has a little more than a 3 inch diameter.
Also as a kind of side note with the cooling... This is my first experience with building a computer. I know all the cords should be tied and such, but is there some kind of way to stick to the sides of the case? Or how should i handle all the extra power cables and audio stuff etc. And also, why is the fan on my video card pointing to the bottom of the case? There's no escape for air at the bottom...wouldn't it make sense to put it on top so the heat could blow out with the processor's air?
I appreciate any help I can get.
