Is there any way to connect a component device (HD tuner, etc.) to the DVI
connector on an LCD monitor, and will the monitor then be running in HDTV
mode?

NO, unless you buy a HD new tuner with DVI output.... or HDMI which
includes
audio out too....

Reason is: a component out device is Analog Video signal......

a DVI port in is Digital Video signal......

yes, but expensive
component is analog and needs to be digitized into streaming bits for DVI
takes an A/D processor engine so it's much more than a simple cable

Randy,

the device looks great. But how about 1080I 50Hz support. I don't see
that on the specs. Is it specifically made for US?

don't know, ask them
all my stuff is connected YPbPr component

What does 50Hz HD look like?
You get those nasty blinking/shimmering effects that mar 625 SECAM/PAL 50Hz
?

Is time base conversion and 60Hz an option?
