Whats going on guys and gals. Im in the market for a new hard drive. Performance is more important that storage capacity to me. Budget is around $140, and I don't want a raptor.

These are my choices so far.

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB SATA 7200 RPM 32MB Buffe

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

I like the Samsung for the 32 megs cache, higher density drive, cheaper, non-oem so I'm guessing it comes with a SATA cable.

I like the Western Digital because of previous positive experiences

Any inputs or issues or anything i should know about?

Thanks in advance

I second the Seagate. Good performance and quality. WD hasn't let me down either.

That particular Seagate looks like a good performer according to tom's hard drive charts.

Can I do even better for my price range?

If not I'll go ahead and purchase it.

Thanks for everything guys.
