I have an Opteron 170 (Dual Core Socket 939) and I just figured out today, that Opterons have a 1000mhz HT, but Athlons have a 2000mhz HT.

I had an Athlon 64 3200+ before the Opteron, but I don't remember it having a 2000mhz HT. :p
I've used CPU-Z on both CPUs before, and I think both had an HT multiplier of 5x. (200x5=1000) and both have a 10x clock multiplier (200x10=2000)

I have an ECS KN1 Extreme motherboard, with an nForce 4 Ultra chipset.
Do Athlons have a faster HT? I could put my old Athlon back in my rig, but I don't feel like it, since its only a single core anyway. :p

They're the same thing. HT is a bi-directional bus so the speed is 1000MHz to CPU, 1000MHz from CPU. Some people just say 2000MHz.

Yes, as the Baron said, they're the same thing.
