socket 939 x2 3800+

idle temp (50c)

100% both cores (60c)

the question is, should i worry?

i got this cpu/mobo combo on the cheap to upgrade from a socket 754 sempron (i couldn't be happier with the performance increase)

the heat sink/fan is rated for use on a socket 754 (it is installed properly and clean)

i have not had 1 problem with my setup - but i am thinking i want to get the temps down a bit, just going out and grabbing a heat sink/fan that is rated for a dual core 939, is one idea i am having. (don't bother recommending some top of the line CPU cooler, i wont spend much more than $15 USD) would you bother?

I'd try to find a Stock AMD 939 cooler. My old Athlon 64 3200+ kept at 28-30 degrees Idle, and 37 max. My new Opteron, which has an improved stock heatsink (with heatpipes) keeps around the same idle temp, and usually no higher than 34 Max.

But my rig is in my basement, next to a vent. :p
