I have a MSI P6N SLI Platinum right now I have my voltage for my cpu set to auto. But I was thinking of trying to overclock it after I replace my stock cooler. I was wondering what voltage should I start off at? is 1.2375V were it should be at default for stock speeds?
I've been able to overclock my E6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.0GHz without having to change the voltage at all.
Try overclocking a little bit (400MHz to start) and go up from there. Use something like Orthos to make sure your system is stable under stress. When it becomes unstable then increase the voltage a little bit like 0.25v at a time.

my e6750 is at 3.76 with 1.4v, no temp problems at all.
Is 1.4V pretty safe or a little on the high side? I was thinking I would set my frontside bus at 400 and set my ram at 1 to 1 timing is this about right? I have built alot of machine but just never did any overclocking.
Ok one more thing I just went into my bios My motherboard MSI P6N SLI Platinum bios ver1.4. And under cpu voltage it has 0.0000 you cannot enter in a value you just have to hit the page up and down keys and the next one is 0.0125 so does that mean it will add that much to the default cpu voltage?
