planning a mix and match with new computer parts.

I've got a raid0 2x 320gb running Vista 64, dual booted with a 250 sata 1.5 running XP MCE 32.

I plan on adding a 750gig 7200.11 and a new mother board. the 250 or maybe a 320 will be wiped and set up in a "new" computer with some other old parts I have laying around.

I assume I'll have to reinstall Vista64 to work with the new motherboard (different chipset brand) and might loose the raid all together.

My basic plan is to partition the new drive, maybe 150, 100 and 500. backup all the data from the raid and other drive to the 500 partition. then install the 2 OSes on the remaining partitions.

does this sound reasonable?

any pointers or software to make this easier?

any way to stress test a HDD to make sure its sound before loosing everything?
