okay so when I boot up my computer with in 3 - 5 minutes my computer freezes...I am not talking about Freeze for a second then keep going. I am talking about everything freezes mouse wont move task manager wont come up or anything. I left it like that one time it happend to see if it would ever start working again and no. I have to manually unplug it to get it to work all the usb stops responding and everything. I thought it might be over heating so I took every thing apart and blew it out with air. didn't help I put a box fan on low and let it blow in it to keep it cool to see if that would help no. I am currently in Safe mode and it seems to be not freezing I ran a virus scan three times and nothing has shown up. And since I was starting up in safe mode and it wasnt freezing like normal I thought maybe I could do a system restore and that would fix it.. no. I am completely at a loss here. Does anyone know what is going on?

  1. Hello: Some hint for you here

Windows XP Freeze in 32-bit (Normal) mode...

    Failure Found!!

It turned out to be the Power Management software in
combination with the "ACPI Mains Adapter" and "Battery"
    in the Hardware list...

Once I disabled the two items, It started up in real mode,
    and it works good.
As soon I enabled eiher one of these in the Hardware List,
    it was Lockup again...

I have replaced those drivers with Generic drivers supplied
from Windows itself, and now it is working perfectly again
    even with those two enabled.

    Windows freezes in normal mode:

Not freezing in the Safe Mode usually means that a main
hardware driver or software program not loaded and inactive
in the Safe Mode, is the cause of the freezing

Computer freeze/only opens in safe mode/System restore failed to fix problem

    My computer keeps freezing:

XP freezes in normal mode but not in safe mode:

Computer freezes 2-5 minutes after logging in

works in Safe mode, freezes in 'normal'

    best of luck
