Im playing to buy it around christmas time and i had questions on which mobo to buy. Im planning on getting one of the new dual core penryns that come out, the 3 ghz one most likely. I dont know which mobo to buy though. I currently have a pc from dell, that ive modified almost everything on it. save for the harddrive. So i am just going to replace the mobo and cpu on it. The only problem i have is that the mobo i have now i think is a micro-atx. i was wondering if i would need a new case if i got a new motherboard. i have an air cooled machine and i might plan on light overclocking. i have DDR2 PC4300 1.5 gb of ram as well. i dont know if i would need new ram as well because mine right now is somewhat slow. thanks for the help.

It depends on what model Dell you have. Some of the newer models use micro atx boards that are screwed in. And some versions of windows shipped with dell systems only work with a dell bios. I would recommend a new case and p35 board if your windows version is oem. I found my antec case at Fry's.com for $35 after $50 rebate. Check slickdeals.net for similar deals, or newegg rosewill cases. Black Friday (after Thanksgiving) is a great time to shop Fry's (or compusa). They had the Intel 2140 cpu with ecs board for only $70 on labor day.

x38 mobo and ati gpu, amd will get the drivers right

THG show that 8800gtx stlll blows away the 2900xt - i suggest a p35 mobo - the asus p5k deluxe is a great mobo for overclocking the q6600 to 3.6ghz

the 8800gtx 640mb is the best card, $ for $
