Hi Guys, I'm completley new to this  , build my first pc, and sure thing, my xp pro version is not detecting my WD Caviar SE16 SATA Hard drives (2).
I changed the bios settings (I found 2) in the integrated peripherals . It seems I have 2 options for this:
1- at the top, which i changed to Raid and 2- under onboard SATA device, I changed that to IDE/Raid, which it says will auto detect.
I have the hard drives plugged into the SATA/3gb/sconectors (2)
The bios recognizes the hard discs and I went on to set up the raid arrays (raid 1) All cool so far!
Then I created the floppy disc with the Gigabyte SATA2 controller, still cool!
I started xp installation, it prompted the installation of the controller, which it did, and then it starts xp installation. It goes for about 3 min. and gives me a halt screen with a error 0x0000007b

Please help, I'm starting to get frustrated :fou:

Thanks guys

Have you got the array in your array manager set to "bootable"

A couple of question

1 What interface is the optical drive?
2 Are you planning to use RAID, if so what level?
3 Do you have the latest bios?
4 Are there any other drives in the system?
5 Where exactly does it fail? Where in the installation?
6 Are you using the Purple ports on the motherboard?
