Just down loaded loast Planet demo -- my system is struggling to run it -- I think it should be fine:

Athlon 6000+
Vista
4GB ram
8800 320MB GPU

(some other stuff not really relevant)

Is it my system or the demo?

Thought the game was ok?

p.s. was running max settings

On max settings the 8800gts will struggle to run it smoothly. I just got done playing it and i have most settings on max and get 30-60fps with a 8800gts and e4300.

It's a console port, so naturally there are performance issues with PCs. I think it runs better on ATI cards as well. Running in DX9 will improve performance and won't degrade image quality noticeably.

Can anyone recommend anything better??

I liked the demo -- much better than jericho and Hellgate London (the later being very poor indeed) I have Half life 2, fear, Bafflefield 2142 & GRAW 1?

Lost planet SUX!
Ran fine on q6600/gts320 @ 14x10.
Died fighting the first big monster thingy then chucked it out
Not impressed.

In other news... 3 DAYS TILL CRYSIS (demo)
:D

You have to download the DX9 demo to run DX9. It is a separate file. You may have to uninstall the DX10 first though.

I think this was done to provide a sneaky way of gauging interest in DX10.

I finished the complete game (enjoyed the graphics, other than that it was a very average console game port). On a res of 1240x960 with everything max and 4xAA, I was getting 35-45fps on my low end system which is fine with me considering how old my system is.
