Hello, I am very confused regarding managing the icons or programs in the system tray that are running in the program. I have been told to manage this from regedit, start up folder or startup and services tabs within msconfig

More about : disable programs system tray

msconfig is good enough to control startup things..
you may also get Ccleaner which has startup control option and good system optimization options

The first option explained:

These are not just icons; they represent programs running constantly. But there are even others that don't show up there.
In the Run box, type in "msconfig," then click the "Startup" tab. Uncheck programs you don't want starting with each boot. You will be asked to reboot.

After the reboot, check the box that pops up.
