I'm getting hold of a cheap motherboard (foxconn P4M9007) with a E2140 CPU on it second hand, as a friend of mine is upgrading.
I was wondering if it's worth paying out for more expensive RAM for it (he's using the existing RAM, so I have to drop something in), over decent quality 667Mhz stuff.
The 2GB options I'm looking at are:
Crucial ram at 667 = £34 or
OCZ ram at 800 = £48
What overall performance difference would I see between the 2?
It's a pretty naff motherboard, so I doubt it would overclock, but I may drop a E6600 or similar in there next year, so I don't want to have to upgrade the memord again then.
Foxconn boards generally lack overclocking options in the bios. Save your money and go with the crucial 667. In the states, 800 is about the same price as 667.
