Okay, I'm planning on putting together my next PC on my own, and I have very little experience in that department, so I was hoping you guys could help me select the components and everything. I have very little experience with PC hardware, so I wouldn't be able to properly decide on what's best, and also, I'd be concerned about select parts that were incompatible with each other.

My budget is around $500-600. A little over $600 is fine, just try not to go higher than $650. Please.

I should probably give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Well, I want a decent amount of storage space (around 250GB or so), but not huge; I really don't need to spend too much money in that area. I'd also like it to have a DVD burner. Also, I'd like it to have Windows XP; I don't have any interest in using Vista at this time. I do plan on gaming on this PC, but I'm not that hardcore a gamer, so it's not that big of a problem if I'm unable to play some of the games with obscenely high system requirements. I can use my monitor from my current PC, so there's no need for a new one.

Well, I guess that's about it. Thanks.

The above builds are good, I'd go with the cooler master centurion 5 for case, a Seagate Barracudas hdd and a lg dvd burner though. I love Seagate Barracudas and LG drives.
