I've got a Comcast Motorola HD dual tuner DVR. Really like it except I
am on my 3rd box with the same problem. When changing channels or
performing other functions it randomly reboots. About a minute later
it's back online but looses the guide.
Comcast said the serial # that I have was realled and wants to replace
the box. However, that's the excuse I got before the last replacement.

Has anyone seen this before and have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have the same problem.
PITA.
Unplug-replug re-boot helps a little.
There is an issue, no one at this time seems sure what it is.

Do both of you have the same firmware version? Any upgrades in the works?
If you don't want to exchange the box, is that because you feel you have
already gotten a so called good serial number box?

i have the same issue, it keeps rebooting and then it looses the guide,
it is very annoying, i have called the cable company they will replace
the box but reading here it looks like it is a common problem with no
fix. can anyone post it their box is fixed and what is the solution.

I dont have the FW version at the moment but Comcast claims I have a
know defective serial #. I dont beleive a thing they say. My last
replacement was supposedly for a "good" serial #. They are coming
today for another replacement. I'm hoping for the best...

There was a batch with bad power supplies. It sounds like your problem.
I don't know the serial number range, but it was posted on avsforum in
the official 6412 thread (which is over 100 pages long).

FYI, the 4th box seems good so far. 5 days and no reboots yet...
