Hey Guys, I built a new pc over half a year ago(I think) waiting for DX10 to become better. I have a thermaltake toughpower 600w, 7600gt, C2D E6400, 2 gigs of DDR2 800mhz Corsair XMS2 ram, and and MSI p965 Platinum. Now when I first built this system I was going to get a new GPU for dx10 but now the new g90 series is going to be out, the new Penryn is going to be out. So I was wondering should I get Vista and a new G90 gpu, or get a new mobo and Penryn along with Vista and the G90? OR (as a second though I just had) get maybe a new fbs 1333 cpu with GO stepping. Just I am not sure If I can afford it all.

BTW: I am planning on playing Crysis, Hellgate London and AOC and other Dx10 games.

Thanks

new cards are coming at the end of this year, wait and see what happens. 2950pro and g90/g92 are sure to have some impact on the gpu market. Also new processors are coming out both from AMD and INTEL. Just wait and see what happens

If you wait you maybe waiting forever, as there is no good time to buy a new machine.

G92 is a mid range card and will slot inbetween the 8800 and 8600 series. If you are playing on a nice high res screen go with a GTS or GTX now and be happy playing now.

Your CPU will do you fine still for a while, and look for when Nahalem hits a shelf near you...

In short... Get a GTX and have fun :)

well I am possibly getting this
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202836372&SearchEngine=PriceGrabber&SearchTerm=202836372&Type=PE&Category=Comp&dcaid=15890

for Christmas from my parents and I heard the 8800gtx cant run crysis on full and definitely not at that resolution. I heard the G90 series was the only way to go for crysis (plus why not just get a G90 when it comes out for same price as 8800gtx) or were you saying the G90 gtx?

ok.i got too a e6400.7600gt and 2 gigs of ram and i ve been in the same process as you( what to buy first etc.)

my advice would be to wait before crysis is out. chances are more powerful and above all less pricier and consuming cards will be out or near out by then. what do you have to loose? i mean your system is not that bad you can play most games pretty well.

for your display i almost bought the same one. i read about it and it s seems like a good one but i d go the one with the "z" at the end. the only thing that stopped me was that i play shooters at high frame rates and i m afraid it would decrease the quality of the gameplay.

there is also the dell 2407 as well as the lg 246l(i think) to consider.

i think the dual core will be good for some time. not a lot of programs uses the 2 cores and games wont be hindered that much because of the cpu. it s the vid card that matters much.
