A E4400 pin modded to 2660Mhz with a lapped Arctic Cooler Pro.
After lapping it and using AS5 my temperature was 40c idle and 63c load.
After a month the cpu idles at 44c and load at 68c.

My E4400 is a L2 stepping and is this the right temperature for a arctice cooler pro? Need some help.

the delta temp is same, so maybe the room get hotter?
also can you check with core temp, it give more information of the cpu.
you should not worry about 2.66GHZ caused too much heat, I wonder you may change cpu voltage form auto to manul and set to low number, the core temp program gives a vid number, that is the voltage intel test cpu for standard frequency, you may add 0.1 v for you cpu core, it will depend on the loading test.

Sorry for a delayed post, but I too am getting high temperatures with my e4400 L2 @ 3.0ghz. I'm using a bolt modded Scythe Infinity with Arctic Silver 5. Temps are 45C idle at C1E state, and 63C load at 3ghz. This is at about 1.36v.

You are fine. Relax.

Either buy a new cooler or back off the OC.

Darkspreaders temp are ok, thats the temp I get @3ghz with e4300 and Ninja.

The op's temps are all wrong though. Somethings up. just make sure its mounted properly, check the voltage etc.

You could try using a bolt mod like I did, it may work depending on the type of mounting kit your cooler uses. Also, although I'm sure you already know of this, but make sure you apply the thermal grease correctly. My first time, I applied it wrong, but once I reapplied it, my temperatures under load dropped about 3-4C. You're supposed to put it in a straight line in the middle. Arctic Silver's website has the full instructions.

By the way, what does this pin mod accomplish on your e4400?
