Is X-Fi xtreme audio sound card much better than my onboard sound card(p5n-e sli)?
How does it compare to x-fi xtreme music and xtreme gamer?

Thank you for your reply.

I believe the xtremeaudio doesn't support hardware sound in BF2, the xtrememusic etc do. That's all I know about it.

1.Yes
2.It doesn't
Xtreme Audio is not a "real" X-Fi and uses software and your cpu.
The other 2 are the real deal
Xtreme Audio = re-badged Audigy with X-Fi name slapped on it
Audigy SE (under $30 at Walmart) basically the same thing.

Which one would you recommend?

XtremeGamer

or

XtremeMusic

XtremeGamer Fatal1ty is out of my price range.

Can XtremeMusic be connected to front panel(in Intel HD audio or in any other way)?
Because XtreamGamer has that option, and I would like to connect headphones to the front panel jack on my case!

Thank you for the reply.

XtremeGamer by a long shot. Don't even consider the new XtremeMusic model. The chip is based off an old Audigy - it isn't an authentic X-Fi. Thus, your system will never recognize it as an X-Fi card, so neither will your games and applications. All X-Fi technologies would be CPU-emulated, which is zero value for money.

Almost got Xtreme gamer. Wish I did too. I guess there's no damage until I hear the card itself preform
