A few extra thoughts: I'm making this machine for gaming purposes mainly. Any recommendations? I was looking at the killer network brand card but they seem so expensive, should I up the quality on the card since I'm going all out on every other piece of the machine? Any recommendations on on a good value LCD monitor, or good headset/microphone combo? Thanks for looking my thread over and any possible advice :sol:

looks very well , but STRIKER EXTREME is overpriced , i recommend ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS over that, it has the same specs ( the reason that STRIKER is more expensive is because it has LCD poster and ...)

also for CPU , E6850 is good , but u may want to look @ Q6600 , although it depends on what u do , here are 2 good reviews:

Thanks for the input :D. Consequently, would you feel that I need to buy more cooling devices for this machine?

The Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS us a HUGE case but it is a very good case has very good air-flow the 250mm is huge also it keeps my mobo very cool i have asus P5k-V which i o/c my q6600 to 3.0ghz/1333fsb and it ran good but i just will stay with stock. i have a zalman 9500 cooler btw its G0 on the stepping. my cpu stays beblow 33c and my mobo stays below 35c so the case will give you awesome air flow. but the case is a awesome choice. but like i said it is HUGE. and its heavy lol

Impressive Spec .. !!

Nice to see people going for Dual cores, and not pointless quad cores (just an opinion)

Although I do think you have killed a good thing with your hard drive selection.

Firstly I wouldn't say buying a single 320GB drive was "Going All Out"
I would of opted for the 2 x WD Raptor 150GB 10,000rpm in RAID 1.
AND keep the other (320GB) drive for data storage.

And you never mentioned what operating System ??
If it's Vista, I think ya crazy ...
If it's XP Pro, I would lose the 4GB of RAM, because it will do you no justice at all. Stick with 2GB (2x 1GB)

SLI mobo wasted and too slow - get a 1333 FSB P35. You are going to pay a 50% premium in price for the E6850 for a 12% increase in performance over the E 6750?

This mobo (or a good P35) has Gigabit LAN, so you don't need a network card. The P35's have excellent audio onboard as well. You can save a bundle on RAM, the PSU is overkill, etc. etc.

You may want to check out this as your video card, it's cheaper and comes overclocked. I don't know if you plan on overclocking or want to use Evga's step-up when the G90s come out, but if you don't this should serve you well :). You already have a good case so heat shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Try this as a power supply. It's cheaper than the one you selected but almost as powerful (it actually pulls more than 620 watts, that's just the continuous power rating) with a combined total of 50A on the 12V rails.
I'm not sure what you mean by a good value LCD, do you mean a sweet one that has good value or just a cheaper one?

Here's a sweet one :).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254024
Here's a cheaper sweet one :).
If you want lower end just get one with 700:1 or great contrast ratio, and 16.7 million colors and a good price :).
Good luck on your build!
