Cannot view files on CD

My daughter has a cd with 430Mb in used space of folders and files.
Whilst in the CD drive a programme wrote to the CD and renamed it UDFREADER and placed 3 files on it
Autorun 1kb
udfrchk 40kb
udfinsl.zl 379kb

none of the original folders/files are visible.

How can i get access to the orignal files?

So the CD is a CD-RW (rewriteable CD) ? -- If so it sounds like the CD has been reformatted into the UDF format (a format that allows rewriteable CDs to be written to like a HDD) and if this is the case then the entire contents of the CD will have been erased when the FORMAT was done which means the content is not retrievable

Thanks JGFan,

The CD is a CD-R. I've downloaded and run the free version of IOSBuster, this can show the files on the disc as still being there.
This software, because it is free wont do more than that unless i buy it.

Is there alternative "free" software that can extract this files?
