9700pro reboots pc on cold boot but then works fine

Anybody got an idea why my sapphire 9700pro is rebooting my pc on the first boot? It gets as far as the xp loading screen then shows me a completely blank output. If left alone my pc then proceeds to give out a single beep and reboots, and from that point on I get into windows just fine and it performs how it should in games. Its a bit of a strange problem.

I am using some omega drivers, the official ones tend to have a problem noticing the native resolution of my monitor. Could it just be the drivers?

Did this start happening before or just after you started using the Omega drivers?

And are you absolutely sure that it's the video card? If you can get your hands on another one then you may want to swap out your 9700 and give the other one a try.

Aye ive got a ti200 sitting around, will give that ago. I don't think it started immediately after I installed the omega drivers, but did sometime afterwards. However, ive used omega drivers in the past with this card with no problems.
