I have a DRW-2014L1T Asus DVD writer drive...

It's pretty new, and for the most part, I've burned some data on dual layers and watched some dvd movies.

Recently, I've had to do some formatting, and installation of software,
when I noticed that the drive has problems executing the autoplay of installer CD discs

My question then is : Is this a common issue with DVD drives?
In the case of Office XP, it took a very long time for the drive to read the disc and execute the ini...
I've tried using the same installer disc with an older cd drive, and had no problems executing the installer...

Next : Are there known issues with switching cds and dvds on a dvd drive? That is, should I just dedicate the dvd drive for dvds?
