every time i try to install the latest driver 7.10 , my system freezes at the ati red background screen....cannot move mouse cursor or even bring up task manager.
I have to do a hard reset via case button.
I have uninstalled old driver closed all system tray apps....disabled antivirus.
I also have netframework 1, 2, and 3 installed.
I have uninstalled anything ATI in add/remove program menu.
please help

I can't remember exactly, and I'm at work so I can't go look, but recently I tried to update my driver for my x1950xt and had the same problem. After a hard reboot I tried again, but made sure that nothing beside the driver was being installed (you might have to select advanced install option). This seemed to work, and no freezing.
