Ok trying to build the best rig i can for the least amount of dosh... i guess we all are.. wot do you gys think of this setup

Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600 G0 £170.95

1GB (2x512MB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 2Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12 £43.93

320 Gb Seagate £49.81

Coolermaster CM-690 £58.74

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit OEM £61.91
Samsung SH-S203/BEBN 20x DVD±R, £18.44
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, £69.31

768MB ScanFX 8800GTX, Mem 1800 MHz, GPU 575 MHz, 128 Pipes/Stream, 2 x DL DVI-I £299.50

600W Zalman ZM600-HP Heatpipe Cooled Modular PSU +80% £72.49

... my thoughts are as follows..will the scanfx oem card be ok..i guess it just a stock card based on nvidia standard setting so i hope i can over clock it a bit..

... will the Zalman be ok to power the GTX and Quad, i dont plan for SLI but i do wanna OC the quad to atleast 3ghz the memory ok..i no nothing about memory

... i will use the Tuniq tower for air cooling

More about build card think
  1. great cards i have 2 in my rig! never oc'd them tho!
  2. I'd get a name brand one... seriously... get Evga or BFG. Memory is NOT ok get another 1 gig at least. 2 gig is more prefer by vista. get 64 bit vista for gaming.
  3. I'd get a Corsair 620HX for £90. It's one of the best PSUs out there and worth the money.

I'd feel better with the BFG 8800 GTX OC. It's also a bit faster. £32 more but worth it IMO for the peace of mind.

RAM, 2x1GB would help a lot:
    GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, £61

I've just added £67 to your total cost, please don't hate me
  4. thanks... yes i will get 2gb..not too sure why i put 1gb...oh well..

but tell me why should i get vista64, lot of sites say 64 may not run all apps or even devices
