Audigy 2 Platinum EX and Vista 64 - Alternative Required?

I am using Sonar Home Studio 6.0 XL (which is 64 bit software) to record music on my Vista Home Premium machine with an Audigy 2 Platinum EX sound card. I can't get sound using the ASIO drives, and the WDM sound garbled. I only get an ok sound from MME, but not all the time. I have the 64 bit driver for the sound card, but what else do I need to get this all to work? And if there's not much to do, what sound card would be good for this setup for recording music? Thank you! (I also have 4 gigs of memory and read that this might be a problem...?)

Is your Vista 32 or 64 bit? The drivers for your Audigy will need to match the OS, so if it isnt 64 bit, chances are the driver you have won't work. I don't remember if both versions are packed in the driver updates...

It is Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I have the 64 bit Audigy drivers, but problems abound...
