is THIS normal ?!?!?

my CPU is q6600 .. so im suposed to get near 2.4ghz each core ...
in CPU-Z in Clock section ( in the first page ) , my multiplier keep moving from x6 to x9 and my Core speed keep moving from 1598.7 to 2397.9 ... but most of the time it stay on the x6 at 1598.7..

is this normal !?!?!?!?!

When you say "For now" in your sig I assume you are going to OC.. You do actually plan on doing some reading first, right?

Sure , read is what im doing since few week already :na:  , im planning to OC mine for sure , using bios and headsink ... but nothing hardcore for the begin ...( max 3.0 ghz )

and i just found why my Multiplier going to 6 x ... saving energy is important !! :p :p :p

Turn off intel's Speedstep BS in the BIOS and your CPU should stop changing on the fly....what are your temps by the way...could heat be sending it back to the 6 multi


Post back if you get stuck on the OC
