i curantly have a sys with 4 HDD, 2 15k 36gb SAS in raid 0, and two seagate 320gb for storage.
i am manly working on CS3 and video editing.
the controller is 3405 by adaptec. e6850, 8800GTX.
at the moment i have only 15gb available from the 70GB of the raid 0, after apps and OS installed.
now whenever i run heavy stuff with CS3,
and when i say heavy, i mean filtering from a 2.7gb tiff file, the 15gb from those drives runs out very quickly (duering filtering) and comes to a point of crash due to lack of strech disk!
i have 4GB DDR2 800 installed on a 64bit OS.
i thought getting 2 more SAS drives and raid 0 them all.
i figured that way i'll get more roon in my main drive, the one with the apps and OS, and more preformance.
would i?
what exactly would i get from raiding 4 15k SAS as far as speed and preformance goes?
and why is my 15gb runs out so quickly when i use heavy filtering with CS3?
