I currently own:
A8n-Sli
Amd 3500++
Two Gigs of PC-3200 RAM
Nvidia 6600gt
74 Gig Raptor, 320 Gig Seagate, 160 Gig WD

I was looking for a graphics card update to hold me over for another year or so just to improve performance in games such as CS: Source, Battlefield, Sims 2 and other games. My 6600GT works, but its getting slow and sluggish. I'm looking to spend about $200 Canadian, but I'm willing to pump out up to $300 if the options are really that much better. I'm also wondering if updating the graphics is useless if my CPU and RAM is going to bottleneck my system so much that the update would not be worth it.

Thanks in Advance

8800 GT. You will be bottlenecked by the processor, but you will still notice a big boost in performance. I would recommend just upgrading the whole system. You're probably going to need a new PSU anyways.

depending on price/performance of the 8800gt that would be your bet. If the reviews are true, thee 8800gt should be almost gtx grade and cost $250.

Thanks for the quick responses. I should also have posted that my PSU is a OCZ GameXStream 600Watt with 4 18A 12V rails. I would of thought this is enough but correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for the responses, love to hear more from anyone else. I'll look into a 8800GT. In response to NightScope. I am planning on upgrading my whole system soon but I will re-use this graphics card in the near future.
