I had an E6850 processor and overclocked it to 3.7. At idle even with the overclock, core temp registered the temp at 6 degrees. I just slapped a qx9650 in and core temp says idle of 37,40,40,37 for my cores. Does that seem normal to you. In my hardware monitor in my bios it says the cpu temp is 14. Does core temp work with these qx9650? if not, is there one that does?

The Qx9650 temps seem fine, But those E6850 temps are WAY TOO LOW.

There is no one that it registered at 6 degrees. It must be miscalibrated

Idle in CoreTemp is probably 5C off.

45nm has a 105C Tjunction.. If it is reading 100C in coretemp than it is 5C off.

Your CPU idle temp should NEVER be less than ambient unless you are using active heat discharge methods.

So if it reads 100C in Tjunction on core temp does that mean its actually 5 degrees hotter or cooler than what core temp says

if its reading only 100C then raise it 5C.

Also, how did your E6850 get 6C?

Hi Silverion. I dont know how i got my E6850 to 6C. That is just what the coretemp reads.
Pro_AJ-I use a Cool-IT Freezone water cooler

I was guessing a TEC, or possibly a cascaded phase-change setup...
