Hi guys

with the release of the 8800gt nvidia has made a card thats between the gts and the gtx.
But heres my question:

Why does it cost more than a 8800gts while its performance is much better?

Or did I just misunderstood what i read?

More performance = More Money, but I think you mistyped.

The fact is, there are two different 8800GTS: 320 and 640MB. If prices stick the 8800GT will be between the 8800GTS 320 and 640MB version. However, I think nVidia has different plans.

From what I hear, nVidia is going to replace the 8800GTS 320MB version(discontinue it).

*Complete Speculation on my part*
While this is complete speculation on my part, it is what I think may happen. If the 8800GT outpreforms the 8800GTS 640MB version, then it would make no sense for anyone to buy it for more money. Compiled with the fact that the 8800GTS 320MB version will most likely me discontinued, I think nVidia may just stick the price of the 320MB version on the on the 640MB version. This would also make a good deal of sense because there is supposed to be a new 8800GTS card coming out that is fabled to preform better than the 8800GT.
*End complete Speculation*

Yeah, maybe...maybe not.

As a side note, I say, get the reviewer, Florentine, a job here at the US site. His article was well thought out, easy to read, and Thorough. Kudos, French THG!
