Have a new build setup, P35-ds3l, e6750, 2x1GB Crucial ballistix, etc.
Got it all put together, and I hit the power button and BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
One long, continuous beep, so I turn it off immediately and I'm not sure what is wrong with it.
The memory is installed correctly, and I posted multiple threads for all the components and they all work together so it can't be compatibility. I double checked all the plugins but everything is in order.
What does one long continuous beep mean?
Next I'm going to unplug everything except the PSU, motherboard and ram, and see if the long beep goes away.
ok by installing one component at a time, I figured out it's the video card, when I dont' have it installed there are no beeps, when I install it there is one long annoying beep, like there is a power problem or something.
Does the 8800GTS require an additional plugin besides just plugging into the motherboard? There is a side connecter on the card but there are NO instructions to using it, if you are supposed to.
ok it stopped doing the beep noise when I plugged in the 6 pin PCI-e power cable.
the fking instructions for installing the 8800GTS are junk. It does not stress at all to plug in that connection and skips over it's importance. Stupid.
Did you plug in the 4pin cpu power as well? Try and do a cmos rest now that everything is plugged in right. Sometimes it helps to unplug and plug back in the psu from the wall outlet.
THe four pin CPU connector wasn't tight... I installed the monster heatsink and fan first and i musn't have pushed the 4 pin connector down hard enough.
Everything boots fine! I Have a new gaming rig!
Now just have to format a hard drive and install all my apps!
It's a P-35 ds3l, E6750, 8800GTS... should be monster for the games I play.

I still, however, have no video
That has happened to me a long while back. But it was my old 6800GS AGP card by BFG. Scared the poopie out of me when it was going off. Sounded like a fire alarm.
Thing is, I knew I was suppose to plug in additional power, though I was in such a hurry to get it up and running, it just didn't occur to me I forgot. After that loud beep, I tend to remember to first check that darn plug.
